I find it hard to believe that the following benefits are not approved here in New Jersey but available with the rest of the country what are the reasons for this?
Question : I don't want my Annuity proceeds to be a tax burden for my beneficiary what can I do ? (Here in New Jersey bite the bullet)
The rest of the country is given the following answer The"Death Benefit Rider" enables the beneficiary to receive up to 28% of taxable gain. It allows you to pass on your annuity's value to your beneficiaries and reduce a possible tax obstacle for them. Although a rate at which your beneficiaries will pay income tax at some future date is unknown The Death Benefit Rider can offset a substantial portion-or all of the income taxes due at the time of your death. A Death Benefit Rider can apply only to non qualified contracts and where the owner and annuitant are the same.
Question : What if I have to go into a Nursing Home ? (Here in New Jersey bite the bullet)
The rest of the country is given the following answer. After the first policy year if you as the policy owner should enter a home or a long term care facility or hospital for at least 30 days out of a 35 consecutive day period you may take a"accelerated distribution of your accumulation value"over as short as five years. Payments under the Nursing Home Benefit will be based on your policy's accumulation value.
Why are benefits that are enjoyed by the the rest of the country not allowed and approved
here in New Jersey? Does this "not diminish" any value for a Annuity contract? This recent
"unprecedented attack on Index Annuities" that has taken place here in New Jersey that left
Variable Annuities alone should be reviewed by someone on"impartial and non-political basis".
If the full value of Indexed Annuities & it's"features and benefits are never approved"& only
"skeleton" product remains that is approved compared to a Variable Annuity product whose
benefits and features remain in place and approved but remain "very questionable at best"
I think this now deserves some further explanation.Why are all these so many and so obvious partiality's allowed to continue here in New Jersey?Who is making these type decisions & why
is the outcome always so bias against the Indexed Annuity Carrier's?and not against Variable
Annuity Carriers? When solid type "suitable product" is bounced out so quickly on it's ear & yet
controversial products are allowed to remain and intact what is going on here and what's really
being accomplished that is in anyone's best interest.? How can the Public make any honest
comparison in product's and decide what is in there best interest when they are only allowed
to see "water down versions" of the Index Annuity yet full views of Variable Annuities with it's
masquerade of benefit's that are offered.
By the way the Nursing Home feature comes with no charge but there is a cost for the"Death Benefit Rider" which for a $100,000 for a 60 year old would run $30.00 dollars a year now compare that to what the charges are for some of the benefits cost on the Variable Annuity and once again it's like the difference between night and day. Indexed Annuities protect your principal and are not considered a risk product so why 'beat" them up as if they were a risk product only the risk products are "hands off" here in our State of New Jersey why is that? Everyone is looking for benefit's or help in in today's world but here in New Jersey even when the benefits are free they are denied to the Public.

Trump Plaza: Jersey City Towers Include Condos, Retail and Parking
The Trump Organization CEO Donald J. Trump, Metro Homes Founder Dean Geibel and his partner Paul Fried today announced construction will begin on Trump Plaza: Jersey City, a $415 million condominium project that will include the two tallest residential towers in the state of New Jersey. Construction will begin this year with occupancy beginning in November 2007, Trump and Geibel said.
Trump Plaza, at Washington and Bay Streets, will include a 531,500 square-foot tower, topping out at 55 stories, with 445 condominium homes, and a 481,283 square-foot tower, reaching 50 stories, with 417 condominium homes. Each unit has a 20-year property tax abatement. The towers will rise from a 328,658 square-foot, seven-story base, housing a garage with 696 parking spaces and 23,000 square feet of prime retail space. The base will accommodate a business center, home theater screening room, a private 8,000 square foot fitness center, a rooftop plaza with an outdoor heated swimming pool, a private landscaped yard, children's play area and enclosed basketball court.
"The addition of this luxury structure to Jersey City's Gold Coast is a testament to the attraction of our city as a destination for people to live, work, and raise families. We are pleased to welcome Mr. Trump and Mr. Geibel as developers of this project whose shared vision contributes to the continued growth and success of our downtown revitalization," said Jersey City's Mayor Jerramiah T. Healy.
"We are honored to be working with Donald Trump to create a world-class living experience in Jersey City with its incomparable views of the world's most famous skyline, outstanding amenities and convenient transportation links. I also want to thank Mayor Healy for his efforts to create an environment where Trump Plaza is possible." said Geibel, whose Hoboken-based Metro Homes LLC is the developer of the project.
"This is a high-quality luxury project, worthy of the Trump name, rising in one of the most exciting places in the country today - Jersey City," said Trump. "The Trump Organization participated in the design and invested in the project, and we will manage Trump Plaza to ensure that the people who live here will fully enjoy this great urban lifestyle."
Because of the positioning and triangular design of the residential towers, most units will have Manhattan skyline views.
The lobby will be an extravagant two-story structure, serving as a statement piece for the building and will be attended by a 24-hour professional concierge service. The studios, one-, two-, and three bedroom residential units will range in size from 750 to 2,224 square-feet. The units will have state of the art kitchens and appliances, marble bathrooms and exotic hardwood floors.
Metro Homes LLC presently is developing Gull's Cove, a community of 431 condominium residences that is part of Jersey City's Liberty Harbor North redevelopment effort; and The Esperanza of Asbury Park, 224 condominium residences in Asbury Park's celebrated oceanfront redevelopment district. The two-acre parcel originally was acquired by Panepinto Properties, a Jersey City based real estate development company. Panepinto Properties, along with The Applied Companies of Hoboken, initiated the two-tower concept and design of the project. Panepinto Properties and The Applied Companies remain as partners in the development.
Trump Plaza was designed by the Manhattan-based DeWitt Tishman Architects. Bovis Lend Lease will construct the project.

15 NJ Towns oppose Patriot Act provisions
NEWARK, N.J. - As Congress considers whether to expand government powers to fight terrorism, 15 New Jersey municipalities and two counties are opposing portions of the USA Patriot Act, and state lawmakers are considering similar action.
New Brunswick on Wednesday joined the list of communities lined up against parts of the act, which expires at the end of the year and is up for renewal.
Officials in New Brunswick passed a resolution opposing portions of the law, enacted shortly after the Sept. 11 terror attacks, that may infringe on important civil liberties ... including presumption of innocence, due process, legal counsel and probable cause (and) protection from unreasonable searches and seizures.
Critics of the act have assailed its so-called libraries provision, which allows authorities to examine tangible items such as business records, credit card receipts and library records as part of foreign intelligence or international terrorism investigations. Another provision drawing fire makes it easier to obtain secret search warrants, once exclusively for use in foreign intelligence cases, in criminal cases.
I commend the City Council of New Brunswick for taking a stand to ensure that we remain both safe and free, said Deborah Jacobs, executive director of the American Civil Liberties Union of New Jersey.
